Shepley v Holmfirth Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 3rd May 2008 Marsh Lane, Shepley
Shepley's 1st XI got its first win of the season at the second attempt with a four wicket win over Holmfirth. The promoted side struggled to deal with the pressure exerted by tight opening spells from Craig Glover (3-39) and Ramesh Subasinghe (1-32) and subsided to 36-6 after 20 overs, including two run outs. A good seventh-wicket stand took them over the hundred mark before Phil Heaton took 3-8 to end the innings. Shepley's reply wobbled at 21-3 before Tom Denton (32) and Phil Heaton (31) took control, leaving the Glover brothers to finish things off with 10 overs to spare.
