Honley v Shepley Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 10th May 2008 Far End Lane, Honley
Shepley enjoyed a stunning victory away to Honley, winning by 48 runs. Honley, champions for the past three seasons and double-winners twice in that time, looked well on course for victory when Shepley were reduced to 32-4. But Phil Heaton had other ideas and, ably assisted by some real character amongst the late middle order and tail enders, hung on to 66 and a team score of 154-9. Honley were still favourites as they started their innings, but the excellent Shepley attack had other ideas. Heaton completed a memorable personal performance with five wickets, Sri Lankan Ramesh Subasinghe continued to impress with three and Danny Glover picked up the other two. Honley were all out for 106 and a match that Shepley would have lost in the past led to a great win.
