Shepley v Honley Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 24th June 2006 Marsh Lane, Shepley
Shepley let slip a match they really should have won at home to leaders Honley. Danny Glover blew away the strong Honley batting line-up with a career-best 8-69 off 25 great overs. However, in the context of a low scoring match, Honley put on a very important 43 runs for the last two wickets. This proved crucial as Shepley fell 14 runs short in a disappointing innings. At 90-2, Shepley were clear favourites, but a disastrous run out cost the vital wicket of Phil Heaton and the wickets began to tumble as a series of injudicious shots followed. Let's hope the Sykes Cup game tomorrow turns the tables.
