Shepley v Honley Sykes Cup Semi Final Sunday 8th July 2007 Marsh Lane, Shepley
Real disappointment as Shepley's Sykes Cup hopes were demolished by a strong Honley attack. As Honley batted, a superb spell of 30 overs by Phil Heaton and Danny Glover gave hope of restricting the two-times Double winners to a manageable total, but once they completed their allocation, Honley punished the other bowlers in the last six overs, posting a daunting 191. In reply, an early run-out of Tom Denton and a poor shot from Trent Copeland left Shepley on 5-2, and there was no way back. Harlon Haye and Ritchie Howarth were excellent and the Shepley innings collapsed to 54 all out. Still, there's always next year!
