Shepley v Micklehurst Drakes Premiership Saturday 14th July 2007 Marsh Lane, Shepley
A very good and convincing win for a Shepley side missing overseas player Trent Copeland, who is missing for two weekends, and who will return only as a batsman for the remainder of the season due to a severe groin strain. Batting first on a wicket made difficult by the continuing wet weather, Shepley knuckled down and reached a very respectable 157-9, with captain Phil Heaton top scoring with 39 and Sam Haigh showing he really is an opener in scoring 30. When Micklehurst replied, Danny Glover gave another excellent display of pace bowling, taking 7-49 including three clean-bowled and three LBWs. Micklehurst were never really in the hunt and Shepley ran out comfortable winners.
