Skelmanthorpe v Shepley

Drakes League Premiership

Saturday 28 June 2008

Lidgett Lane, Skelmanthorpe

Shepley got their fourth consecutive win as neighbours Skelmanthorpe were well beaten at Lidgett Lane.  The home side collapsed to 10-4 and 54-7 in the face of some excellent bowling from Ramesh Subasinghe (with his first five wicket haul for the club) and Craig Glover before some lusty late order hitting got them up to 150.  Shepley, however, strolled home with more than 23 overs to spare, winning by nine wickets.  Tom Denton (58*) and Tim Rees (with an excellent 86*) were in great form and wrapped the game up by sharing three consecutive sixes to emphasise their dominance on the day.
