Shepley v Barkisland Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 3rd June 2006 Marsh Lane, Shepley
For the second consecutive week Barkisland were beaten at Marsh Lane. Last week's Sykes Cup tie was a last ball thriller, but Saturday's league fixture provided an easy win for an impressive Shepley side by 7 wickets with over ten overs to spare. After a first wicket stand between Power & Winrow of 110, Barkisland collapsed as Phil Heaton took 5-49, ending up at 198-6. Shepley started well, with a first wicket stand of 66 between Tom Denton (31) and Ashley Littlewood. Michael Olivier then joined Littlewood for the decisive stand of 104 for the fourth wicket; Michael was 59* at the conclusion, with Ashley falling for a very good 73 with the match virtually won.
