Shepley v Lascelles Hall Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 5th August 2006 Marsh Lane, Shepley
A superb spell of left-arm spin bowling - including his second hat-trick for the Club - by captain Phil Heaton gave Shepley victory over Lascelles Hall in a great game of cricket. Shepley batted first, scoring 264-6, with fifties from Ashley Littlewood and Tim Rees and good contributions from Tom Denton, Heaton and Simon Potter. A good total, but in a match where 18 sixes and 51 fours were scored, anything was possible. Lascelles Hall's strong batting line up started well and at 165-3 looked well set. But Phil Heaton switched to his favourite end and turned the match with a spell of 5-13 in 21 balls, to end with 7-63.
