Micklehurst v Shepley Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership Saturday 12th August 2006 Westerley Lane, Shelley
Shepley just fell short of pulling off an outstanding win at big-spending Shelley. Set 294 to win, Shepley went for it from the start. Tim Rees and Ashley Littlewood led from the front, taking advantage of a small ground with inviting short boundaries down the slope, and pretty much kept up with the run rate. At the end Danny Glover, needing more than ten an over for the last eight overs really went for it and only just failed to pull it off, falling just seven runs short. A great game of cricket.
